FREQUENTLY ASKED WALK-THROUGH QUESTIONS

Q. Can siblings attend together if they are in different grades?

A. Yes, but only if they are scheduled for the same date. You do not need to notify us if your children will be attending together. Just come during one of their assigned times.

Q. I cannot make the walk-through scheduled for the 7th. What do I do?

A. Students who are unable to attend on the 7th may attend on the 10th from 8:15 a.m. -9:15. a.m.

Q. I cannot make the walk-through scheduled for the 10th. What do I do?

  • A: On-Campus Students: Students should report to school on August 11 and see visit the table in the Commons Area for their homeroom assignment. Make-up photos will be taken on August 18. Students who have an ID from 2019-2020 may wear their old ID until a new one can be issued.
  • A: Virtual Students: Virtual students do not need to do anything if they do not need to pick up a device. Virtual students who requested a device MUST attend the walk-through. This is the only date we have available to issue devices.

Q. Do I have to attend the walk-through with my child?
A. No, parents do not need to attend. Most middle and high school students are perfectly capable of completing this task on their own.

 Q. Will I be able to visit my child's classroom?
 A. No. Due to the tight schedule and capacity limits, we cannot accommodate any classroom visit requests. A map of campus will be provided with your child's schedule. Student helpers will also be available on August 11 to help your child find his/her classroom if he/she is new to campus.  Parents are not allowed to enter the building on the first day of school. Teacher contact information is available on the parent hub (tinyurl.com/smahub) if you would like to schedule a phone call or Zoom to address a specific concern with your child's teachers.

 Q. CAN I DROP OFF SCHOOL SUPPLIES WHEN I COME FOR THE WALK-THROUGH?
 A. Elementary students (grades 3-5) may drop off supplies during the walk-through. If you wish to do this, please place all supplies in a bag and CLEARLY label the bag with your child's name and grade. We will deliver the supplies to your child's classroom for you. All other students should bring their supplies on the first day of school. Virtual students do not need to provide supplies.

Q. If I ordered uniforms online, can I pick them up at the walk-through?
A. Yes, uniforms will be available for pickup at the walk-through. Uniforms not picked up will be sent home with students on the first day of school. Please do not come early to pick up uniforms as we are limited to only essential visitors on campus.
